investment can be
purchased by adults for young people under the age of 16. It makes an ideal baptismal, graduation, birthday or Christmas gift
for a child or
grandchild. MissionFuture4KIDZ investments are a great way to set aside money for college or other needs, and teach children good stewardship and money management while connecting them to the life of the church.
Many ELCA congregations purchase MissionFuture4KIDZ investments for children at their baptisms.
Congregations have found this
investment to be an effective way to invest in the future of young people and, at the same time,
help build the ELCA. Once the investment
has been purchased, a custodian—usually a child's parent or guardian—is responsible for the investment. The investment matures on
the minor's 18th birthday.
A minimum original investment of $50 is required. Principal additions of at least $25 may be made at any time. Interest is added to the principal quarterly.
