Holy Chaos Transcended
Hope Lutheran Church in Sioux Center, Iowa, operated out of a sterile one-room building. Accumulated "stuff" was stored in the margins. Sunday School was held in the corners. Adults met at a funeral home. It was wall-to-wall people every Sunday. The Mission Investment Fund offered a loan many banks couldn't. And that gave the congregation the space for its ministry to grow.

Clear Vision
Landlocked and crowded in Cicero, Ind., Bethel Lutheran Church moved to greener pastures in 1998 when expanding membership forced the congregation's members to rethink their building needs. The Mission Investment Fund helped with the planning and provided the loan to help the congregation expand.

The Sardine Effect
The problem was simple. Grace Lutheran Church in Belfast, Pa., grew from 200 members in 1996 to 295 in 2006 and is adding members at a steady pace. The building was inadequate, but a loan from the Mission Investment Fund helped the congregation build modern facilities to continue its growth.

Town Revival
The Methodist Church closed. The Presbyterians moved away. The Lutherans dwindled. Dauphin, Pa., population 648, was spiritually underserved. Consultations with and a loan from the Mission Investment Fund have enabled Zion Lutheran Church to give the town hope.

Roots and Wings
After seven years worshiping in a school. Cross+Road Lutheran in Orange Park, Fla., can put down some roots and spread its wings thanks to a loan from the Mission Investment Fund.
