Apply for a Loan
MIF recommends that congregations and ELCA-related ministries contact an MIF loan administrator before beginning the loan-application process. Call 877.886.3522 toll free.
Loan information is also available from the MIF area representative and church building consultant who serve your synod.
New mission congregations interested in purchasing land or constructing an initial church building should contact their synod's mission director.

How will MIF
make a decision on an
application?
Generally, MIF loans are granted to healthy ELCA congregations that reflect the demographics of the ministry's surrounding neighborhood. MIF reviews
a congregation's growth and financial history to develop a loan program that your congregation can repay in a mission-minded way.
MIF reviews the ELCA Congregational Trend Report, and your congregation's annual reports, future ministry plans, construction plans and other documents that you think will help MIF understand your ministry.
Make Loan Payments Automatically!
When your Mission Investment Fund loan is approved, payments can be automatically deducted from the ministry's checking account through Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions.
